Saturday July 4th

Mile-Long Parade

Celebrate Independence Day with friends, family, and neighbors as our town showcases its best floats, performers, and patriotic pride down every mile of the route.

GENERAL INFORMATION

When: Sat. July 4th 10:30am

Where: Parade route is along Broadway starting on West Broadway near Wildwood Park at 10:45 AM. The parade is rain or shine. The presence of lightning may stop us. Stay tuned. Updates will be posted on Facebook.

Parade Grand Marshals are the Ross Family.

PARADE CONTESTS

  • BEST COMMUNITY FLOAT

  • BEST DECORATED BICYCLE (Judging of decorated bicycles only at 10:30 AM on July 4 at intersection of Thresher/W Broadway)

We encourage parade entrants to incorporate the parade theme ”America 250: Past, Present, Future” into their float design and other entries.

PARADE ENTRY

Entry Deadline: Friday June 26, 2026

AWARDS

Best Float will receive the Grand Prize - Ike Fuller Award. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place in each float category will receive a Cash Prize of $100, $75 or $50. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place decorated bicycles will receive prizes and other awards.

Everyone (except the decorated bicycles) must pre-register for the parade. All entrants not pre-registered by Friday, June 26, 2026 and who would still like to be in our parade are welcome, however they will be assessed an additional $50.00 late-registration fee.

ENTRY FEE

Commerical Entry and Political Candidate Fee: $50.00 per vehicle. Non-commercial Entrants & Incumbents not up for re-election and Decorated Bicycles; No charge

Winner announced at Parade

Decorate your home in the spirit of Independence Day and show your patriotic pride. To enter, email granville4thhomes@gmail.com by Wednesday, July 1st. Judging will take place Thursday, July 2nd. The winners will be recognized on Friday, July 4th at 7:45pm at the Grandstand. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

GRANVILLE'S GOT TALENT

CASH prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places

All ages, all talents—sing, dance, act, juggle, or play! Free to participate. Cash prizes for winners and participation prizes for everyone.

Email GGT@granvillekiwanis.org to register. You will receive a follow-up confirmation email with details. Important: All performers must check in behind the stage before the event.

Walk-Ins welcome (space permitting). Walk-in signups will be accepted behind the stage before the event. Space is limited, so advance registration is strongly encouraged.

WEATHER ALERT: Rain may not restrict the performance. However we may cancel or postpone due to severe weather. Announcements will be made at the stage. Please note that the entertainment stage is covered and the audience bleachers are not. Guests are invited to bring their own chairs and umbrellas. There is cover nearby at the Granville Kiwanis Food Tent.

PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST & EXHIBITION

Deadline to enter the contest is July 31st

Photographs must be original and taken this year in Granville, Ohio. The contest is free to enter. Deadline to enter the contest is July 31st (midnight). Residents and Guests of Granville may participate. Amateur and professional photographs will be judged separately by the juror. Ribbons will be given for First, Second and Third Place in each category for both amateur and professional divisions. Selected photographs will be displayed in the exhibition. A Best of Show $100 prize will be awarded.

Visit Granville Rotary's website for more information. The Granville Firecracker Five is a long-standing Fourth of July tradition in the Granville community. Finish the race with your family and friends, and then enjoy the parade, entertainment, rides, food and games!
